Job description

The Silicon Product and Failure Analysis Engineer at Google Cloud will focus on driving high-performance product readiness and shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration. This role involves working with cutting-edge TPU technology and collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve product issues. The engineer will leverage their expertise in product development and failure analysis to ensure the reliability and performance of custom silicon solutions. This position is part of a team that empowers Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product engineering, test engineering, or failure analysis for SoC or ASIC products.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, wafer processing, chip packaging, or product reliability.
  • Experience with manufacturing yield or RMA.

Responsibilities

  • Work on IC product qualification and plan and drive execution.
  • Perform data analysis, characterization, and fault isolation to determine root causes of issues.
  • Conduct yield analysis and correlation analysis for all levels of tests.
  • Define and finalize production screening guard-band specifications and appropriate test conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive suppliers to product qualification and initial yield ramp.
  • Assist in failure analysis and debugging of field issues, delivering engineering data and reports.
