The Core Network Services Operations team at Apple is seeking an enthusiastic individual to support and maintain the MPLS backbone network. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and external service providers to ensure the network infrastructure operates smoothly. The ideal candidate will have strong technical networking skills and a passion for operational excellence. • A minimum of 3 years of network operations experience in a large scale enterprise or service provider environment
• Experience evaluating and managing outages to business critical infrastructure
• Ability to maintain composure and customer-service focus in stressful and ambiguous situations
• Self-starter, self-motivated, self-directed, self-sufficient
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP and various IGP protocols
• Proficiency in macOS, Linux, and/or other variations of UNIX operating systems
• Experience working in large scale network environments with ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP, or equivalent experience
• Flexibility to work early morning or late night shift patterns required
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and/or Nokia carrier-grade routers and their respective network operating systems is preferred
• Understanding of peering and/or transit networks is a bonus
• Experience with configuration management and automation technologies such as Ansible, Python, Go, etc is advantageous.

• Provide front line support for Apple’s MPLS backbone network and its extensive connectivity.
• Work on tickets and break fixes while mentoring junior team members.
• Develop network automation playbooks and maintain existing networks to current standards.
• Coordinate peering expansions and contribute to technical and procedural documentation.
• Drive operational excellence and deliver the best possible customer experience.
