Job description

The Senior Bridge Engineer at Jacobs will take on a lead technical role in designing complex transportation projects, primarily focusing on bridges. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure quality, schedule, and budget requirements are met. The engineer will work closely with clients and a global team of bridge engineers, fostering trusted relationships. This role is essential for delivering impactful infrastructure solutions across the country.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Ohio or ability to obtain Ohio license within 6 months of employment
  • Substantial years of progressive and demonstrated experience on a variety of bridge types, including analysis, design, and plan development
  • Considerable experience on large, multidisciplinary bridge design projects
  • Previous experience with Design-Build (DB) projects
  • Advanced working knowledge of MicroStation, Excel, MathCad, and Structural Analysis and Design Software
  • Experience mentoring engineering staff
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Software

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation projects, primarily bridges.
  • Oversee project quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Build trusted relationships with teaming partners and clients.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between clients and the global team of bridge engineers.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians.
  • Establish work plans and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of a project.
  • Participate in technical societies and attend meetings or events outside normal working hours.
