The AWS Hardware Engineering team is seeking a software expert with deep knowledge in server firmware to design and develop AWS-specific hardware and software. The ideal candidate will be an innovative self-starter who collaborates with engineers across the company and external partners. This role involves analyzing the server firmware stack and finding solutions to complex problems. The candidate will have a direct impact on AWS's future cloud computing technology.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Design and develop server features in BIOS/UEFI, BMC, or FPGA.
- Work on test development, automation, and operation metrics.
- Own the end-to-end product development cycle to serve customers.
- Collaborate with AWS engineering teams to tailor devices for the AWS environment.
- Explore emerging technologies and their impact on AWS.
