The Systems Development Engineer role in the Amazon Elastic VMware Service team focuses on designing and developing large-scale services for VMware-based workloads on AWS. The team is dedicated to modernizing enterprise customer workloads and fostering a culture of innovation and mentorship. This position requires strong technical expertise in VMware technologies and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions. Team members will collaborate closely with engineers and business leaders to enhance customer experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Bachelor of Arts degree.
- 6+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems.
- Hands-on deep technical experience with VMware technologies, including ESXi, vSAN, NSX, and VCF.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside other engineers to create new capabilities for customers running VMware workloads.
- Participate in product definition, technical architecture reviews, and iterative development.
- Interact with customers to understand and ensure their needs are met.
- Lead performance testing and benchmarking of AWS infrastructure for VMware workloads.
- Design and implement software-defined networking solutions to enable flexible network infrastructure.
