Job description
As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Rivian, you will play a crucial role in implementing new paint infrastructure and developing processes to support factory expansions in Illinois and Georgia. You will collaborate with various teams, including Production, Quality, and Process Engineering, to enhance manufacturing capabilities. This position requires frequent travel to Rivian factories and suppliers, and you will report directly to a Sr. Manager in Manufacturing Engineering. Your focus will be on ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in the paint production process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role
- Knowledgeable in high and low volume manufacturing skills and concepts
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems
- Ability to work independently and execute a project plan
- Experience working in both 2D and 3D CAD environments
- Preferred experience with conveyance or PTED
Responsibilities
- Take ownership over a portion of Rivian's Paint production process
- Design and implement processes and equipment to grow production capacity
- Partner with production engineers and leaders to ensure successful ramp and long-term production
- Provide product feedback to design engineering teams for manufacturability
- Ensure achievement of safety, quality, cost, timing, and throughput targets
- Provide regular, metric-based project updates to the management team
- Challenge assumptions that are not backed up by thorough engineering evaluation
