This role involves setting technical standards, mentoring engineers, and making architectural decisions that balance long-term vision with immediate delivery needs. The position requires a strong focus on operational excellence and collaboration with various teams to translate business constraints into technical solutions.
Requirements

- Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience designing and building large-scale systems in a distributed environment
- Experience with capacity management, forecasting systems, or optimization platforms is preferred
- Strong operational instincts and experience debugging production incidents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture for Caps Manager and Fly Forecaster.
- Drive the evolution of the cap allocation model to support weight-based capping and non-stackable cargo.
- Architect and scale the forecasting platform for accurate demand predictions.
- Design the feedback loop between Forecaster and Caps Manager for improved forecast accuracy.
- Architect the integration layer between Caps Manager and partner systems.
- Lead the technical implementation of the Cap & Release program.
- Identify and drive foundational improvements to reduce operational burden.
- Partner with teams to translate complex business constraints into technical solutions.
- Own operational excellence for both domains by driving availability targets.
- Mentor and grow SDE-I and SDE-II engineers on the team.
Benefits
- Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs.
