Job description

The Senior Software Engineer role at Microsoft focuses on building backend services for the advertising business, utilizing C#/.NET on Azure. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience with C#/.NET and Azure cloud services such as AKS, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL.
  • Experience with production live-site engineering, observability tooling, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services in C#/.NET on Azure.
  • Drive a large-scale infrastructure migration from VMs to Kubernetes.
  • Deliver full-stack features across GraphQL APIs and TypeScript frontends.
  • Own production health, incident response, and observability.
  • Mentor team members in coding best practices and extensible code production.
  • Lead discussions for architecture of complex products ensuring solution quality.
  • Integrate logging and instrumentation for gathering telemetry data on system behavior.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine customer/user requirements.
