Job description
This role is for a Mechanical Engineer on the Watch design team at Apple, focusing on the development of the next generation of wearable devices. The team is responsible for all mechanical components of the Watch, working closely with various cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design skills and a passion for innovation. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- A solid understanding of engineering fundamentals such as heat transfer and mechanics of materials
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience using various fabrication processes
- Strong proficiency in Siemens NX for components, assemblies, and drawings
Responsibilities
- Build prototypes for design validation and drive failure analysis
- Deliver outstanding design solutions while balancing multiple priorities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Industrial Design and Electrical Engineering
- Engage with vendors to ensure successful parts and assemblies
- Design and integrate flexible circuits, PCBs, and batteries
