As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring operational excellence from design inception to maintenance. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to deliver high standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity and efficiency. This role involves troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis, and developing innovative solutions for data centers. You will also lead engineering audits and support new construction projects, making a significant impact on AWS's global infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation by start date.
- Coursework in commercial/industrial mechanical systems.
- Organized with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines and budget.
- Possess leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills with attention to detail.
- Possess data analytics skills and comfort with working in vast amounts of data.
- Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis for site and equipment failures.
- Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
- Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and recommended mitigations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction and commissioning.
