As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring their design, operation, and maintenance meet high standards. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to troubleshoot issues, develop innovative solutions, and lead engineering audits. This role is crucial for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of AWS's global infrastructure. You will also have the opportunity to work on projects that impact data center capacity and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, particularly in data centers.
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities.
- Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment related to data centers.
- Data analytics skills and comfort with working in large data sets.
- Experience in water chemistry and water treatment technologies.
- EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot site and equipment failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
- Support operational issues with training and complex procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and solutions.
- Interface with various internal teams to promote service consistency.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
- Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risk assessments.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
