The Senior Software Development Engineer will join the Applied AI team, specifically the Knowledge Work Automation team, to design and build innovative AI systems that enhance productivity at Amazon scale. This role focuses on architecting agentic AI systems that transition from prototypes to production-grade software, impacting thousands of internal customers. The team values rapid experimentation and high-quality delivery, working at the forefront of AI technologies. Candidates should be prepared to collaborate with various stakeholders and mentor junior engineers.

• 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 6+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience mentoring, leading a tech team, or serving as a tech lead
• 7+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Experience building LLM-powered applications or multi-agent systems
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools such as LangChain or Amazon SageMaker
• Experience designing APIs and platform primitives for engineering teams
• Strong ability to operate in ambiguous and fast-moving problem spaces
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Architect and build agentic AI systems that autonomously execute complex workflows
• Innovate by evaluating and adopting emerging LLM techniques and agent orchestration patterns
