Job description

The Systems Development Engineer role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) focuses on automation and improving the S3 storage service. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
  • 4+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience designing or architecting systems.
  • 4+ years of experience deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • 1+ years of experience in development/programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, Bash, or Perl.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for a small engineering team through the full software lifecycle.
  • Identify, plan, deliver, and operate software and processes that improve AWS operations.
  • Work with AWS engineers to identify process automation opportunities.
  • Perform full-lifecycle software development with constant customer interaction.
  • Participate in on-call rotation supporting automation solutions and the S3 service.
