Job description
The Security Engineer role in Amazon Payments focuses on securing critical payment systems that handle millions of transactions daily. The team is responsible for ensuring that security is embedded in the development process and that customer data remains secure. The role requires excellent prioritization and communication skills to navigate a fast-paced environment and address complex security challenges.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing.
- Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
Responsibilities
- Develop a broad and deep technical understanding of products, services, and architectures pertaining to the Amazon Payments organization.
- Articulate the security state of the business and the effectiveness of security initiatives.
- Engage early with development teams to embed security into applications from the start.
- Perform security reviews including secure design, threat modeling, and security testing.
- Contribute code for security fixes and partner with developers to build scalable security tools.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate security assessments and drive innovation in securing systems.
