Job description
This role involves joining a dynamic team within Apple Services to build infrastructure and data pipelines that support creativity applications. The focus is on developing resilient, fault-tolerant distributed systems that enhance user experience across iOS and macOS devices. Engineers will take ownership of a high-throughput platform, ensuring it meets strict scalability and availability requirements. Collaboration with various teams is essential to translate complex needs into effective backend solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing software in Java, including advanced object-oriented design and development
- Demonstrated experience building and operating distributed systems with strict requirements for scalability, high availability, and low latency
- Experience working with distributed NoSQL and relational database technologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong fundamentals in storage systems
- Familiarity with high-performance caching mechanisms
- Familiarity with event streaming and queueing systems
- Prior experience with media processing
- Hands-on experience working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Take deep technical ownership of a high-throughput, multi-tenant platform
- Drive projects end-to-end from initial architecture and design reviews to production releases
- Ensure services meet strict requirements for scalability, high availability, and low latency
- Act as a key partner to teams across Apple, translating complex requirements into robust backend solutions
