Job description

The Construction Engineer - Transportation role at Jacobs involves overseeing construction projects related to roadway and structural improvements in the Seattle area. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Construction Management, or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, or Senior Inspector.
  • Proven experience within large transportation projects in the Puget Sound Area.
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, and project delivery methods.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of construction projects to ensure safety and accuracy.
  • Manage and direct a team of support staff and site inspectors.
  • Review and confirm daily reports and coordinate with Document Control personnel.
  • Coordinate inspection services with local jurisdictions and oversee environmental consultants.
  • Assist in timely responses from the design team on RFIs and Submittals.
  • Report on project progress, safety, quality control, and changes in contract work.
  • Lead coordination efforts with the project team, contractor, and client's staff.
