Job description

The Structural Bridge Engineer - EIT position at Jacobs involves working on a diverse portfolio of new bridge design and rehabilitation projects in Madison, Wisconsin. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years’ professional design experience predominantly in bridges with a focus on DOT projects
  • EIT certification with the ability to obtain a PE within 1 year
  • Solid understanding of WisDOT practice, procedures, and standards
  • Proficiency in bridge design software, such as LEAP Concrete/Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, Larsa 4D, MIDAS Civil, and MDX
  • Competency in bridge/highway CADD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, InRoads, Geopak, Open Roads Designer, and Open Bridge Designer
  • Solid communication and writing skills including technical report writing

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and rehabilitation of highway bridge structures
  • Conduct structural analysis, load rating, and design calculations
  • Develop plans and rehabilitation solutions for highway bridge projects
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on various projects
  • Take ownership of design tasks and contribute to client solutions
