Job description

The Mechanical HVAC Engineer SME will lead mechanical engineering efforts within the Data Center team, focusing on high-performance data center projects. This role emphasizes the development of innovative mechanical solutions that meet performance and energy efficiency standards. The engineer will mentor junior staff and collaborate closely with various engineering disciplines to ensure project success. The position offers opportunities for technical authority expansion and leadership growth in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in data center facility design.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency with mechanical/HVAC design and simulation software such as Trane TRACE or Carrier HAP.
  • Knowledge of CAD and BIM platforms including AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality reviews of complex HVAC and mechanical systems for data center facilities.
  • Lead mechanical analyses and guide the selection of cooling methodologies.
  • Develop and validate advanced mechanical simulation models and establish modeling standards.
  • Oversee critical calculations for cooling load analysis and hydronic system design.
  • Drive energy performance strategy aligned with sustainability commitments.
