Job description

The Principal Software Engineer for Azure Full Stack development will be a hands-on engineer within the Global Skilling Product Team at Microsoft. This role focuses on developing enterprise-grade features that enhance Microsoft Skilling platforms, impacting millions of learners worldwide. The engineer will lead the design and implementation of innovative skilling solutions, leveraging AI to improve user experience. The position emphasizes collaboration in an agile environment and aims to inspire excellence in skilling, upskilling, and reskilling efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud development principles and patterns, particularly loosely coupled architectures, micro-services, and DevOps model.
  • 7+ years of experience in leading, managing, and driving technical and architectural dependencies.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in developing applications using RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, or equivalent languages/frameworks.
  • Proven experience optimizing cloud infrastructure for cost savings and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain engineering infrastructure, tools, and services for the CI/CD of Microsoft Learning platforms.
  • Develop software features for Skilling platforms, including requirement gathering, architecture, application and database design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Support and maintain existing services and integrations with LOB applications across the enterprise.
  • Lead junior Software Engineers and collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive identification of dependencies and develop design documents for security features.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to internal technical communities through documentation and skill-building sessions.
