Job description
This role is for an engineer in the AWS CloudWatch team, focusing on operational excellence and troubleshooting AWS services in specialized security regions. The team is dedicated to enhancing customer experience through innovative cloud solutions and requires a strong understanding of Linux, networking, and cloud services fundamentals. Candidates will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with software development teams to deliver reliable services. The position also emphasizes continuous improvement and automation of operational tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or A+ or CND or Network+ or Security+ certification.
- 1+ years of Linux systems administration experience.
- 1+ years of technical troubleshooting or support experience.
- 1+ years of networking experience.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services.
- Experience with systems administration on either Linux/UNIX or Windows operating systems.
Responsibilities
- Analyze defined projects and break down the work to help define milestones and success criteria.
- Identify when implementations lack high availability or contain defects and investigate systemic patterns.
- Resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner.
- Support the operational stability of CloudWatch and CloudWatch Logs services in ADC environments.
- Investigate the root cause of customer issues impacting CloudWatch service visibility.
- Analyze metric trends to identify performance degradation or capacity concerns.
- Collaborate with the team on automation opportunities for common operational tasks.
- Participate in on-call rotations, responding to service alerts and customer issues.
- Dive deep into logs and metrics to understand system behavior and dependencies.
- Discuss and implement improvements to the team's operational processes.
