Job description

This role involves building the next generation of platform-level software and systems to ensure the delivery of healthy hardware to AWS customers. The team focuses on architecting, building, and operating scalable services that are critical to AWS infrastructure. Engineers will work in a fast-paced environment, tackling complex challenges while maintaining a strong customer focus. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Experience in computer architecture.
  • 4+ years of building production software experience.
  • 4+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and code reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex problems, applying appropriate technologies and best practices.
  • Focus on a major portion of existing or new team software, including significant components or features.
  • Work with the team to invent, design, and build stable and performant software.
  • Participate in the code review process, design discussions, and team planning.
  • Improve operational excellence by identifying problems and proposing solutions.
  • Support training new team members on software construction and operation.
