Job description
Amazon is looking for a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to design, integrate, and launch robotic End Effectors. This role involves working on advanced robotics systems that utilize AI and sophisticated control systems to create adaptable automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanism design and integration, and will work within a multidisciplinary team to push the boundaries of robotic manipulation and human-robot interaction. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing and integrating mechanisms into robotics systems
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Expertise in wire rope, dyneema, 4-bar linkage, and hydrostatic transmissions
- Deep understanding of mechanical efficiency, inertia, and compliance
- Hands-on experience building prototypes and debugging subsystems
- Experience with transmission design for robot end-effectors/grippers
- Proficiency documenting designs in accordance with ANSI Y-14.5
- Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO’s
Responsibilities
- Author functional requirements, design verification plans, and test procedures
- Execute product designs that meet the requirements
- Build and test mechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems
- Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
- Work efficiently to support rapid schedules
- Collaborate with Electrical and Controls engineers
- Document designs in accordance with established standards
