Job description

As a Senior Bridge Engineer at Jacobs, you will play a pivotal role in leading transformative transportation structure projects in Boise, Idaho. This position emphasizes building strong client relationships and mentoring junior engineers while expanding the bridge practice in the region. You will leverage your extensive experience with local transportation departments to strengthen partnerships and identify new opportunities. Your technical expertise will be crucial in shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow and enhancing Jacobs' influence across the state.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • PE registration
  • 15 plus years of bridge design experience including steel girder, prestressed concrete, and earth retaining structures
  • Strong working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code
  • Proficiency in LARSA, Midas, CSi Bridge, or other finite element modeling software
  • Experience with other structural design software such as Leap Bridge, Bridge Link, LPile, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Experience working with ITD, LHTAC, and or Idaho Highway Districts
  • Strong leadership and project delivery experience
  • Experience supporting or leading proposal development

Responsibilities

  • Lead bridge and transportation structure design projects with precision and creativity
  • Build and strengthen client relationships, serving as a trusted partner to ITD, LHTAC, and Idaho Highway Districts
  • Leverage your network and experience to help grow and develop our Idaho bridge program
  • Collaborate with Jacobs teams and partners to pursue and win new work
  • Coordinate design activities and meetings with Jacobs staff and subcontractors
  • Perform quality reviews and manage budgets and schedules for bridge design tasks
  • Mentor junior engineers and CAD staff, fostering a culture of growth and innovation
  • Contribute to proposals and strategic pursuits that expand our market presence
  • Engage in national design work, bringing your expertise to projects across the country
