Job description

The Product Design Engineering Program Manager (PD EPM) on the iPad & Input team is responsible for leading the technical execution of innovative consumer electronics. This role involves guiding architecture choices, aligning cross-functional teams, and managing the end-to-end program strategy from concept through launch. The PD EPM will tackle complex engineering challenges while ensuring timely convergence and manufacturing readiness. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in program management or mechanical engineering for rapid-development consumer products.
  • Strong technical foundation in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with strong critical-thinking abilities.
  • Deep understanding of product development and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Shape early product definition for next-generation iPads and input devices.
  • Own the end-to-end program strategy by defining feature baselines, schedules, and budgets.
  • Surface critical technical risks and partner with engineering leaders to build mitigation plans.
  • Lead the charge in solving complex engineering puzzles across the iPad and input devices.
  • Drive drawing releases, tooling decisions, and vendor engagement for manufacturing readiness.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of hardware builds to validate design intent.
  • Communicate program updates with clarity to executive and cross-functional audiences.
  • Foster strong partnerships across various teams to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Provide steady leadership through ambiguity and maintain focus on product goals.
