Job description

Intel is seeking a Senior Automation Systems Integration Engineer to join the Foundry Back-End Automation team. This role focuses on leading the design, development, and deployment of automation software for semiconductor manufacturing operations. The engineer will work on integrating various factory systems to optimize throughput and improve product quality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in semiconductor automation and strong software engineering skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • 7+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing automation, systems integration, or related areas.
  • 5+ years' experience with database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • 5+ years' experience with yield management systems, statistical process control, and automated yield/SPC workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and deploy automation solutions with partner organizations across wafer prep, die prep, and assembly test manufacturing.
  • Partner with manufacturing, equipment engineering, IT, process engineering, and quality teams to understand business needs and translate them into automation solutions.
  • Design and implement real-time communication interfaces using SEMI standards.
  • Maintain and improve software architecture, ensuring scalability, robustness, and maintainability.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and system-level debugging for complex integration issues.
  • Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and drive best practice adoption across the automation team.
