Job description

The Product Installation Engineer at KLA is responsible for the installation and qualification of advanced semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites worldwide. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth installation process and high customer satisfaction. The engineer will work independently while collaborating with various teams to verify system performance. Extensive travel is required to support installations globally.

Requirements

  • Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree and 2 years related work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems.
  • Experience with high-vacuum systems is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking environments such as Windows or Unix.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership.
  • Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process.
  • Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time.
  • Secure warranty sign-off on newly installed tools.
