Job description

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Expertise in system modeling of driveline or transmission systems in relation to bearings, shafts, and gears.
  • Knowledge of system analysis tools such as Romax, MASTA, SABR/Gear or similar.
  • Working knowledge of duty cycle and durability life curves of components.
  • Understanding of gears, gear analysis, and gear manufacturing.
  • Understanding of bearings and basic parameters of bearing geometry.
  • Basic CAD knowledge, including ability to review designs within CATIA.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor others.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Understanding of gearbox and driveline fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Design gearbox and driveline systems with a focus on bearing, gear, and structural system analysis.
  • Perform research, design, and development of driveline systems from concept to production.
  • Analyze gearsets and bearings for life and stress under duty cycle and load conditions.
  • Evaluate and optimize structural and NVH parameters of the system.
  • Support and liaise with suppliers and manufacturing for component specifications.
  • Create component and system level accelerated tests based on vehicle data.
  • Provide technical support and system analysis for root cause analysis of development issues.
  • Document and report on technical findings.
  • Coordinate and participate in design reviews.
