Job description
This role is part of the Product Design FEA team, focused on leveraging predictive simulation to enhance product designs for Apple's future innovations. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanics, materials, and numerical methods to impact the development of products like iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. The team emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors to advance the FEA workflow. Candidates will explore advanced technologies such as Large Language Models and Machine Learning tools to drive innovation in product design.
Requirements
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or a similar discipline required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in solid mechanics and finite element analysis.
- Expertise in the mechanical behavior of materials and constitutive modeling.
- Proficiency in Python and relevant packages for Machine Learning.
- Experience with Abaqus, ANSYS, and META.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to verification and validation.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and written and verbal communication skills.
