The Machine Learning Data Scientist role within Apple's Intelligent System Experience group focuses on analyzing user interactions with Apple technologies to derive actionable insights. The team works on various products, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac, to enhance user experience and inform product strategy. This position requires a strong background in data science and machine learning, with an emphasis on understanding feature usage and improving algorithms. The ideal candidate will collaborate across multiple teams to deliver insights that drive project success.

• Master's or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field plus 3+ years of industry experience.
• 2+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python for data processing and development.
• 2+ years of data-querying experience with SQL and/or Splunk.
• 2+ years of experience working with Tableau or similar data visualization technologies.
• A solid foundation in statistical analysis and the ability to design A/B experiments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience working with and processing non-English or multilingual data.
• Experience with generative models and leveraging them to create applications.
• Experience with big data and applying machine learning to solve business problems.
• Experience with Spark or PySpark applications.
• Experience with natural language processing.

• Understand feature usage, such as engagement with Genmoji and Image Playground.
• Evaluate the accuracy of algorithms like autocorrection for non-English languages.
• Mine user feedback data to identify opportunities for model improvements.
• Define metrics and success criteria for product features and underlying architecture.
• Work effectively cross-functionally with Engineering, User Studies, QA, Design, and Marketing.
• Deliver meaningful insights in a timely manner to drive project success.
