Job description

As a Mechanical Engineer at Amazon Robotics, you will develop innovative system architectures and hardware designs for robotic systems. You will work within a collaborative team focused on applying advances in robotics and software to solve real-world challenges. The role involves significant autonomy in delivering mechanical design solutions and requires a strong understanding of automation controls and sensing technologies. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and capability of Amazon's global logistics network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing processes including sheetmetal fabrication and weldments.
  • SolidWorks or similar CAD experience for part design and advanced assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with significant autonomy to solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production.
  • Work with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations to ensure a smooth product launch.
  • Write functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Demonstrate thorough engineering analysis and full ownership of designs from concept through production support.
  • Independently design and adapt holistic hardware solutions for ambiguous problems.
