Job description

The mechanical engineer role at Amazon involves designing resilient and cost-effective mechanical distribution systems for data centers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree in a related field with at least 2 years of additional qualifying experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in design engineering or the construction industry related to mechanical systems.
  • 2+ years of experience using Revit for producing Mechanical & Plumbing engineering BIM models and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and experience with performance-based alternatives to prescriptive Mechanical design.
  • Experience directly related to the construction of data centers or large-scale mechanical and power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to understand user requirements.
  • Create data center mechanical designs and collaborate with other disciplines to create a construction document set.
  • Specify appropriate mechanical equipment by working with regional vendors and manufacturers.
  • Ensure compliance with city/county requirements and building codes by working with local agencies having jurisdiction.
  • Review and approve equipment submittals and define project scopes.
