The Senior Industrial Engineer for Robotics Manufacturing & Operational Excellence will lead the development of advanced manufacturing operating systems at Amazon Robotics. This role combines technical expertise in factory operations with leadership in continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will work closely with a team of Industrial and Continuous Improvement engineers to drive digital lean practices and optimize manufacturing processes. The position is critical in shaping the future of robotics production and fostering a culture of relentless improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of specialty experience with progressive responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent.
- Experience with complex MHE and packaging lines or process design based on Lean Manufacturing or Toyota Manufacturing System.
- Experience leading engineering design projects and interacting with cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing and deploying an operating system or management system framework.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in management of engineering design projects.
- Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Experience with digital lean tools and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, and governance of the Operational Excellence Operating System across manufacturing sites.
- Champion continuous improvement as a cultural transformation by partnering with site leaders and managers.
- Establish and lead an Operational Excellence Council with a team of Industrial and CI engineers.
- Drive digital lean transformation by leveraging data analytics and digital tools.
- Design and optimize manufacturing systems including process workflows and facility layouts.
- Develop and deploy the CI roadmap by facilitating kaizen events and structured improvement projects.
