Job description
As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will leverage your technical skills to provide high-quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software. You will be part of the Operations Technology Solutions team, which is essential for maintaining the speed and accuracy of Amazon's operations. The role involves troubleshooting straightforward problems and implementing technical solutions across various sites. You will also engage with management and staff to enhance IT solutions and ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience with Windows Server technologies including AD, DFS, Print Services, and SCCM.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment.
- 2+ years of experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation.
- 1+ years of experience in IT client, server, and network service delivery.
- 2+ years of experience with networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
- 2+ years of experience supporting corporate Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems.
- 2+ years of experience maintaining a corporate network environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or equivalent preferred.
- 2+ years of computer networking experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware installation, or AWS.
Responsibilities
- Perform network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration in various software and hardware environments.
- Ensure that infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
- Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
- Manage local technical projects effectively.
- Maintain or create policies, procedures, and processes.
- Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
- Support customers from multiple buildings in the area as well as remote customers.
- Travel within the local or regional area to provide customer support.
