Job description

Amazon Web Services Elastic Cloud Computing (EC2) is seeking passionate individuals to join their team focused on solving complex problems in cloud computing. The EC2 Provisioning team is responsible for turning new servers into virtualized hosts that run customer workloads globally. Engineers will work on innovative solutions in distributed systems while collaborating closely with senior technical leaders. This hands-on role encompasses the full software development lifecycle, emphasizing operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements and design software solutions
  • Conduct design reviews and code reviews
  • Implement software and launch incremental features
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement
  • Work on engineering problems in distributed systems at a massive scale
