The SDE II position on the DynamoDB Capacity and Customer Entitlement team focuses on designing and building production systems that optimize capacity planning and fleet scaling for DynamoDB's infrastructure. This role involves solving complex distributed systems problems and developing automated scaling algorithms that directly impact millions of customers. • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

• Design, implement, and maintain production-grade capacity management systems that optimize fleet scaling across DynamoDB's AWS regions.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from design documents through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Build automated workflows that process customer capacity requests, achieving high auto-approval rates.
• Develop integration points across DynamoDB's architecture to gain deep systems understanding.
• Create monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions that provide visibility into capacity health and optimization opportunities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and resolve operational issues with long-term fixes.
• Partner with DynamoDB service teams, product managers, and leadership to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
