Job description

NVIDIA is looking for a Principal Failure Analysis Engineer to lead the Silicon Failure Analysis Lab Infrastructure. This role focuses on creating a safe, high-availability environment for the Fault Isolation, Physical Failure Analysis, and Supplier Quality Engineering teams. The engineer will manage lab operations, facilities, and vendor partnerships to ensure efficient root cause analysis of semiconductor products. Collaboration with various departments is essential to align lab operations with NVIDIA's technology roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience
  • 15+ overall years of experience in semiconductor, R&D, or high-precision lab infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience with capital equipment enablement, facilities coordination, and vendor management
  • Strong multi-functional leadership, communication, and execution skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall Silicon Failure Analysis Lab infrastructure to ensure a safe and scalable environment.
  • Own day-to-day lab operations and infrastructure readiness, serving as the primary point of accountability.
  • Manage lab facilities and utilities, coordinating upgrades, maintenance, and construction.
  • Drive failure analysis tool enablement and reliability, ensuring preventive maintenance and improving uptime.
  • Lead vendor and cross-functional partnerships to reduce downtime and ensure operational resilience.
  • Own consumables, inventory, and asset management with accurate tracking of inventory and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory governance by partnering with Corporate EHS and maintaining lab operating specifications.
  • Define and execute the long-term SiFA lab infrastructure roadmap to support future technologies.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
