Job description

The Component Engineer role at Apple involves working within the Components Engineering Team, which is responsible for selecting and managing efficient components for various products. Requirements

  • BSEE required.
  • 2+ years of experience in Component Engineering or a similar role.
  • 5+ years of experience in Component Engineering or a similar role.
  • Good understanding of engineering documentation and standard document control practices.
  • Experience coordinating with groups such as Electrical Hardware Design and Mechanical Product Design.

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams across commodities as the resident component expert.
  • Assist in new product introduction by developing lead times and qualification processes.
  • Locate and qualify new potential component suppliers.
  • Review and evaluate component PCNs and FA reports to assess issues and risks.
  • Coordinate and track all component root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Document and release all component specifications and conduct commodity research.
