Job description

Apple's Silicon Engineering Group is looking for a talented UI Engineer to join the Documentation Tools team. This team develops a platform that includes CLIs, UIs, and APIs to assist silicon engineers in creating technical specifications for Apple's chips. The role focuses on enhancing the user experience by reimagining the web interface and developing a new native macOS/iOS application. Candidates should be skilled in modern web development or native app engineering and be eager to expand their expertise across both domains.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 10+ years of relevant proven experience
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in building complex, data-rich user interfaces
  • Deep expertise in web-based frontend architecture or native application design patterns
  • Experience consuming and integrating with backend APIs such as REST and GraphQL
  • Strong understanding of software test environments, release cycles, and UI quality assurance best practices
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and modern CI/CD workflows
  • Experience with modern web development platforms, TypeScript, and component-based frameworks like React
  • Experience building native desktop or mobile applications within the Apple ecosystem or other environments
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, Objective-C, Scala, Java, C, or C++
  • Experience working with or visualizing complex document structures like XML

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to enhance the user experience of the platform
  • Reimagine the next-generation web interface for the documentation tools
  • Help pioneer a brand-new native macOS/iOS application
  • Design intuitive interfaces for complex technical workflows
  • Support engineers in designing chips for future Apple products

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
