Job description
The Developer Experience Platform team at Apple is seeking a Python backend engineer with expertise in Large Language Models and Generative AI. This role focuses on designing and implementing core backend services and pipelines that integrate with various enterprise services. The engineer will contribute to the development of developer productivity tools and play a significant role in evolving enterprise AI platforms. Collaboration with machine learning engineers and software engineers will be essential to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in building complex agentic systems using Large Language Models.
- Strong programming skills in software architecture design and development.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience specializing in enterprise software development.
- Expertise in backend technologies including Java and Python, along with proficiency in database technologies and CI/CD solutions.
- Experience in Machine Learning with a focus on Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and Generative AI.
- Experience working on platform engineering or a developer experience platform is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement core backend services and pipelines for integrating LLMs and Generative AI services.
- Ensure accuracy in LLM-based code generation and integration with various enterprise services.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers, software engineers, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Contribute to the development of developer productivity tools.
- Brainstorm on architectural patterns to determine the best approaches for backend development.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
