Job description

Apple is seeking a module design engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation smart display technology. This role involves managing the development of new display and light sensor technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The engineer will focus on optimizing system-level performance and validating designs through engineering builds. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in optical design and simulation for light sources, optics, and sensors
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment for optical and electrical characterization
  • Expertise in light source and sensing technology such as mini-LEDs and micro-LEDs
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in building hardware prototypes and taking products from concept to mass production

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and qualification activities for smart display technology
  • Manage the implementation of critical technology platforms to enhance display performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to understand design tolerances
  • Optimize system-level performance based on critical metrics
