The Apple Services Engineering Commerce group is seeking a back-end Java software engineer to join the Account Services team. This team is responsible for building high-performance services that support transactions for Apple media products globally. The role involves ensuring transactional integrity, scalability, and security for a platform that handles billions of transactions daily. Candidates will work in a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science or related experience, MS or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years of software development experience in Java with a strong understanding of object-oriented concepts.
- Deep knowledge and experience using relational databases such as Oracle.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful/RPC APIs and services.
- Strong production, debugging, and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with relational database frameworks like JDBC and object-relational frameworks like Hibernate or JPA.
- Experience using NoSQL solutions like Cassandra, Voldemort, or Memcached.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests with frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito.
- Experience with protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, and SSL.
- Experience with scalable message queue systems like Kafka or RocketMQ is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build back-end services and capabilities shared across iPhone, Mac, and Web.
- Contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of user-facing features.
- Identify components that can be reused across different scenarios and regions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Apple.
- Take ownership and set direction for projects while navigating ambiguity.
- Write components, frameworks, and libraries that achieve software leverage.
- Work on complex problems and distributed systems where scalability and performance are critical.
