The Experimentation team at Apple is seeking an experienced engineer to enhance the experimentation system across all Apple operating systems. This role focuses on building and extending an end-to-end platform that supports over 2.5 billion devices. The engineer will work closely with feature teams to improve customer experiences while addressing challenges related to AI adoption and experimentation culture. The position emphasizes technical leadership and collaboration in system design and architecture.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or a related field with 7 years of work experience, or a MS in Computer Science or related field with 5 years of work experience.
  • Industry experience in Objective-C, Swift, C/C++, Kotlin, or similar languages.
  • Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals such as threading, synchronization primitives, inter-process communication, and scheduling.
  • Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to work with a team to design system architecture.
  • Proven ability to deliver production-grade operating systems software.
  • Experience in iOS, macOS, or similar operating systems.
  • Experience in experimentation or A/B testing and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Build and extend the experimentation system for Apple across all operating systems.
  • Develop the on-device daemon and framework central to the experimentation platform.
  • Collaborate with feature teams to enable positive impacts for customers.
  • Focus on optimizing memory, power, and performance while enhancing the developer experience.
  • Drive critical design discussions and elevate peers through code reviews.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
