Job description

This role is part of the AWS Hardware Engineering team, focusing on the development of AWS storage servers and devices. The team is responsible for creating innovative server designs that ensure operational excellence and support the growth of AWS. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with engineers across various disciplines to enhance the performance and reliability of storage systems. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on AWS's infrastructure and customer experience.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • 4+ years of systems development experience in an IT or data center environment.
  • 4+ years of experience deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • 6+ years of experience in development/programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, Bash, or Perl.
  • Experience leading the design, build, and deployment of complex software solutions.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and own HDD systems in Amazon.
  • Create and utilize data analytics to monitor the health of hard drives.
  • Deploy software solutions to improve hard drive performance.
  • Implement OS level changes and automated testing.
  • Generate operational dashboards and new NPIs.
  • Solve complex problems related to system performance and reliability.
