The Reality Capture BIM and Design Engineer at Amazon Robotics will focus on delivering innovative solutions across the fulfillment network. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to enhance automation deployment and improve hardware design quality. The team, Tech Transformation, is dedicated to integrating robotic solutions into fulfillment operations. The engineer will utilize advanced tools and methodologies to address complex spatial challenges and optimize design workflows.

• Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or other related discipline
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM 360
• Field experience in pre-construction BIM or Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)
• Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams and field operations in an industrial or construction environment
• Experience with scripting and node-based coding tools such as Dynamo and Grasshopper
• Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
• Experience as a solutions specialist in construction BIM/AEC environments
• Experience with point cloud registration and processing using Leica Cyclone Register360 and Cyclone 3DR
• Strong understanding of construction industry practices and processes
• Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or Nvidia Omniverse
• Experience in process simulation using platforms such as Siemens Tecnomatix

• Own and execute complete 3D/BIM workflows from scan-to-model including modeling, meshing, clash detection, report generation, and feature extraction of physical facilities.
• Address complex spatial challenges spanning mechanical, electrical, structural, fire protection, and HVAC domains using various software tools.
• Lead coordination meetings with cross-functional deployment teams to mitigate installation errors and clashes.
• Manage stakeholders and run meetings while recommending design changes to optimize deployment timelines and construction costs.
• Classify and segment point cloud data using advanced manipulation tools and build automated pipelines for processing efficiency.
• Produce trade-space studies, quantitative feasibility models, and scalable automation pipelines for robotic deployment.
• Develop deployment simulations to validate installation sequences and identify spatial conflicts prior to field execution.
• Optimize 2D and 3D design workflows and operational processes by developing automated scripts and new tools.
• Maintain organization and management of 2D and 3D project documentation, including coordination notes and design files.
• Develop standardized survey packages and reusable templates to support scalable automation deployment across sites.
• Maintain and enforce QA/QC procedures to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables.
• Support field on-site scanning and process/register 3D LiDAR data.
• Travel up to 50% as required.
