The Software Development Engineer II role on the Solutions Tools and Administration team focuses on developing and supporting benefits administration technology for Amazon employees. The team is responsible for the complete technical lifecycle of benefits administration, including automation solutions and large-scale distributed systems. This position involves collaboration with engineers and stakeholders to solve complex technical problems and improve the employee experience. The role offers an opportunity to shape the technical foundation that powers benefits for millions of employees worldwide.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery, and support of new Benefits support architecture components built natively in AWS.
- Actively lead the design, technology selection, and implementation of automation solutions including end-to-end testing frameworks, reconciliation tools, and management portals.
- Build and maintain large-scale distributed systems that support the complete benefits administration lifecycle.
- Collaborate daily with engineers, product stakeholders, and managers to solve complex technical problems and design creative algorithms.
- Contribute to raising the engineering bar through code reviews, technical discussions, and sharing best practices across the team.
