The role is for experienced Hardware Design Engineers to lead the integration and operations of next-generation storage solutions for AWS cloud systems. You will work within the AWS Hardware Engineering team, which focuses on designing and building high-performance server systems and components. The position emphasizes collaboration with software engineers to optimize SSD performance and health at scale. You will have the opportunity to influence the development of innovative technologies that enhance customer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hardware design and validation experience with components, subsystems, and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with root-cause analysis, debugging, and resolution of issues on storage systems in a Linux environment.
- Proficient coding, scripting, and debugging abilities in a Linux environment.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Expertise in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity.
- Experience in developing technical documentation such as functional specifications and design verification plans.
Responsibilities
- Design and build infrastructure to operate storage platforms at massive scale.
- Lead the integration and delivery of SSD from OEM suppliers.
- Support the development of automated monitoring and failure analysis services.
- Collaborate with AWS software teams to tailor and operate storage solutions.
- Drive operational excellence by building software services for optimizing SSD performance and health.
- Lead the rollout of new drives for new and existing platforms.
