The Sr. Mechanical Engineer at AWS will be part of a global engineering team focused on designing and implementing energy-efficient mechanical systems for data centers. This role involves collaborating with diverse teams to develop innovative cooling solutions and sustainability initiatives. The engineer will also drive standardization of designs and support continuous improvement through data analysis. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork and mentorship within the Data Center Engineering community.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, or BIM 360
• 6+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License is preferred
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region

• Design and implement energy-efficient mechanical systems for data centers
• Partner with teams to develop innovative cooling solutions and sustainability initiatives
• Create comprehensive documentation for mechanical designs and operational procedures
• Support continuous improvement through data analysis and system optimization
• Guide project teams through planning, execution, and commissioning phases
• Collaborate with teams or individuals from other disciplines, cultures, and countries
• Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications and reports
• Review and approve critical equipment submittals including vendor Witness Tests
• Provide technical support on global Large Scale Events (LSE’s)
• Maintain and host technical mechanical forums for collaborative development
