Job description
The RDS Platform scheduling team is responsible for the patching scheduling domain for all RDS and Aurora engines, focusing on automating the scheduling and deployment of database upgrades and patches. As a software engineer on this team, you will tackle high-impact challenges at scale, aiming for zero-apparent downtime during maintenance activities. You will work on innovative initiatives such as AI-powered scheduling and GenAI-driven policy setup, directly enhancing the security and operational experience for AWS customers. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals across various teams within AWS.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Build and operate systems that automate scheduling and deployment of database upgrades and patches
- Work on initiatives to achieve zero-apparent downtime for maintenance activities
- Develop AI-powered scheduling solutions based on usage patterns
- Collaborate with teams to improve the security posture for AWS customers
- Contribute to the Henosis upgrade rollout policy framework
