Job description
Amazon is seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join the Plexus Team for the Amazon Leo initiative, which aims to provide broadband connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. In this role, the engineer will develop requirements, review designs, and enhance ground test capabilities for the satellite constellation. The position involves influencing decision-makers on RF design processes and collaborating with various engineering teams. The RF Engineer will also validate new software and hardware configurations and troubleshoot RF issues.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of antenna fundamentals and radiation theory
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
- Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
- Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems
Responsibilities
- Perform link budget analysis and select appropriate RF ICs and passive components.
- Review and optimize PCB schematics and layouts.
- Use specialized test equipment to validate RF performance from the sub-component to the system level.
- Validate RF performance and troubleshoot RF issues across various levels.
- Collaborate with manufacturing test and operations teams to ensure efficient RF performance testing.
