Job description

The AI Manager at KLA leads a team of engineers focused on delivering AI-enabled products and platforms that drive business outcomes. This role combines leadership, technical oversight, and accountability for the delivery of AI solutions. The manager collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure that AI initiatives align with enterprise priorities and are built responsibly. The position emphasizes the importance of operational rigor while balancing experimentation and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, ML/AI engineering, or applied data roles.
  • 4+ years of people management experience leading technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML systems and their deployment in production.
  • Hands-on background with modern engineering practices including APIs, CI/CD, testing, and observability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a team of AI engineers, ML engineers, and software engineers working on AI initiatives.
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and success metrics while conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Coach team members on technical excellence, delivery discipline, and responsible AI practices.
  • Own the delivery of AI and GenAI initiatives from concept through production, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Guide teams in building production-grade AI systems, including data pipelines and model training.
  • Provide architectural and design guidance for ML pipelines and model lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with data, cloud, and platform teams to ensure AI solutions align with enterprise architecture.
  • Communicate status, risks, and outcomes clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Establish guardrails for responsible AI, including data privacy and model risk management.
  • Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and adoption of best practices.
